Maruti’s revolutionary sedan model,Maruti Suzuki Dzire- Another facet Articles Swift Dzire, with the introduction of its new model has put in efforts to cut the cost of production by shortening its length. Both the cars look almost similar with miniscule differences like dimensions and few exterior features. However, New Swift Dzire adorns some changes like a completely new grille. As alleged the new look is based on four pillars namely dynamic, elegant, energetic and balanced.

New Maruti Swift Dzire is packed with the same 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine, as Maruti Swift hatchback. This engine churns out 86 bhp of top power along with ultimate torque of 114 Nm at 4000 rpm. Whereas the 1.3-multijet diesel engine yields 75 bhp of maximum power and 190 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are mated with 5-speed manual transmission. McPherson strut with coil spring is there to help the front suspension while torsion beam with coil spring supports the rear end. The car is available with petrol and diesel version. Due to the increasing demand of diesel cars in India, Maruti has brought this compact car in diesel variant. 4 petrol and 3 diesel variants are rolled out with the new notchback car, making a total of seven models in its fleet namely LXi, VXi, VXi AT, ZXi, LDi, VDi and ZDi. The K-Series petrol engine gains from the Variable Valve Timing, which has resulted in a rise of power by 2 bhp as compared to the older sedan. The boot space now boils down to 316 litres, which indeed is less as compared to the outgoing models. However, the length stands at a shorter 3.95m; the new sedan is wider at 1695mm (+5mm) and taller at 1555mm (+25mm). The new Swift Dzire has 40mm longer wheelbase, which is 2430 mm, as compared to the wheelbase of outgoing car which is 2390 mm. Talking of the looks and design of this new sedan, the headlamps are bigger and better in looks with completely new tail lamps, larger rear door; the new bumpers incorporate wider air dam grille and new fog lamp enclosures. While all these are exterior changes, this car also boasts enhanced interior space, which includes the beige plastics on the dual-tone dashboard and door pads, light colored upholstery, adjustable headrests and armrest in the centre of rear seat.

In context of the safety features, the newcomer has left no stone unturned. The all new Maruti Swift Dzire is endowed with enough of safety features to protect its occupants. These encompass front dual SRS airbags, ELR seatbelts, ABS (Antilock Braking System), Brake Assist, EBD and an Engine Drag Control system. Everything seems to be spot-on in the new Maruti Swift Dzire with not many complaints except for the fact that is has got very less boot space, as particularly perceived; what’s a sedan without a large boot? Only factor that could be missed is the boot space of its predecessor model. The rear knee room has slightly increased, but is just sufficient. In short, this new Dzire is now absolutely desirable.
