The design of the new Buick LaCrosse GL has recently been premiered and experts are saying that it brings a sense of elegance and class to an already classy vehicle. The Buick line is well known for its luxury designs but this new concept vehicle goes all out. The designers wanted to make sure that this Buick had a classy vintage look,New LaCrosse Design Brings More Elegance Than Ever Before Articles and they accomplished just that.

The first thing to notice about the new GL concept vehicle is its gorgeous palette of colors. The new vehicle uses a warm brown palette containing colors like cabernet red, dark cocoa brown, and caramel choccachino. The designers here wanted to make sure the vehicle had a look of class to it, so they were inspired by the colors of the metals on fine antique jewelry, the ombré patina on vintage guitars and the flocked lining found on keepsake boxes. The designers also wanted to give a look of elegance in the stitching, giving the vehicle French –stitched leather seats inspired by classic club chairs and the wind-made contours of sand dunes. They even used a smooth suede for the headliner, to make sure every touch of the vehicle is just right.

The designers accented their warm brown palette with further inspiration from fine antique jewelry by giving the vehicle brushed and tinted chrome grille accents as well as chrome accented door handles and deck lid and the edging of the windows, taillights and headlights. All of these elements combined makes the new GL say the word luxury out of every crevice.

The seats, doors and instrument panel also reflect the sense of elegance. These are each finished with the dark cocoa brown color and the caramel choccachino colored leather. The French stitching mentioned earlier is an ice blue color, which matches the interior lighting that glows when the door is opened. The headliner as mentioned before is made of suede, and so is the steering wheel. The driver is never going to want to let go of the wheel in this car.

The interior metal accents on this concept vehicle are made to match the metal trim outside. The accents reflect the same dark, warm colors and are accompanied by wood trim colored like the ombré patina fade, invoking the same color scheme found on classic Gibson Les Paul guitars.

David Lyon, executive director of design for this project said “The LaCrosse GL concept expresses Buick’s distinctly human kind of luxury – one that is as warmly inviting as it is elegant and refined. The design cues that already distinguish the production LaCrosse – such as the premium leather-upholstered seats, ice blue ambient lighting and soft touch surfaces – are amplified in the GL and serve as inspiration for future Buick models.”

Magdalena Kokoszynska, creative designer on the LaCrosse GL also spoke of its elegant look. “The brushed-and-tinted chrome trim gives the GL a more subdued appearance than if we had used bright chrome. The overall effect is more in keeping with Buick’s quietly confident aesthetic. Every surface in the interior of the LaCrosse GL has been crafted with the knowledge that Buickcustomers enjoy the finer things in life, but don’t need to flaunt it,” Kokoszynska said.
