The Ford Motor Company has manufactured cars of all shapes and sizes over the years and there are some models that have been more popular than others. Some of these are now considered classics,Popular Cars Manufactured by Ford Articles some are considered muscle cars, but some were so popular that the new models are considered retro and are similar in style to their namesakes of old. Some of the most popular are:

- The Model A. This was the first vehicle that came off the assembly line at River Rouge and was a huge success for the growing automaker. It was also the first one to use a normal set of pedals, clutch, throttle, and gearshift, as well as safety glass in the window for better driver and passenger protection. In the 20s, competitors had caught up with Ford and new innovation was needed and Henry went to Edsel, his son, for help with design.

- The Mustang. The original model was based on the Falcon, a compact car of its time and was first manufactured in 1964. The artists who designed the original body style loved the style of the P-51 mustang of World War II and were given the credit by Ford for the name. As each new model came out, they got larger until it returned to the size of the original in 1974. It is the only one of the original "pony" cars to have been produced non-stop from its development until now.

- The F-Series. This is the nickname given to the full size truck line that Ford Motor Company has manufactured through the decades. They start from the smaller F-150 to the largest and most powerful F-350. The F-150 is the best selling truck in the United States for 34 years and is available in front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, and four wheel drive.

- The Taurus. This popular car was first introduced in 1986 and it was innovative for its time with its aerodynamic contoured shape. It started out as a medium sized car and is now a full size car that can be purchased in either front or all wheel drive. The Taurus was the most popular car in the United States between 1992-1996 until the Toyota Camry passed it up in 1997. When the SUV became popular Ford transferred most of its efforts to manufacturing those instead and Ford lost traction to the smaller Japanese models. The Taurus was taken off the market and replaced by the 500, the Fusion, and the Freestyle SUV. The Taurus was so popular that it was revived in 2007 as an updated combination of the Fusion and 500.

Ford has always been known as the company of innovation and it will be for years to come as long as it keeps producing popular models far into the future.
