SatGuide Moov 200 is your more than decent gadget which is more than just a GPS device that shows you the way on the road. Its performance as a GPS device is surely worth a mention.

The Features and the looks

The men in black type body is made up of sleek plastic except for the front screen bezel with a dark metallic tint to it. The overall design looks clean without much fuss and surely tops the list of one of the most attractive devices out there. You have the sounds coming from the mono onboard speaker at the back.  The Moov 200 matches the size of your pocket calculator and makes for a good travel buddy. The quality is just about decent, so be a bit careful on how you handle it.

The display is a 3.5-inch touchscreen with QVGA resolution (320x240) which is good enough for maps and texting. It runs on a Samsung CPU and a 20-channel SiRF star III GPS chip with 32MB RAM and 2GB of internal memory. The battery is a 720mAh Lithium battery which delivers up to 2.5 hours of life per charge.  The hardware configurations seem up to date with the competition of today.

The preloaded SatNav map shows you over 600 cities with over 20 lakh Points of Interest (POIs). You also have Night Mode, 2D/3D mode, Pedestrian/Vehicle Mode and Free Map Browsing. You can start off with either selecting POIs or street addresses or can also add them from your recent locations or favorites menus. Just tap any point on the map and drive to that location. The list of features just rolls on with the multi-route planners, options to avoid routes and route playback. You can also have some fun on the way as it lets you watch, play and listen to media files. Make sure the package includes a device holder, USB cable, AC charger, In-car charger and the requisite manuals and CD.

In terms of the performance, the device starts in a second and the interface is easy to use. You might have to bother about the map feature that requires some expertise. The speed is good and the on-screen QWERTY keypad is also up to the task. As usual touch screens are good but requires hawk eye visibility outdoors.
The device guides in the right direction but you can also be in trouble because of the constant change in Bangalore road traffic. So make sure you do some home work before leaving your place. The map reception quality is free flowing and does make you feel quite happy.

The map also shows you the name, address and some extra info as well and you also get to choose between the 2D and 3D map views. You have a pop up like in the need for speed game with the arrow showing the direction and distance for the destination.
