The Smart City-Coupe is one of the smallest cars that you will ever get a chance to see in the United States. This model actually began in Europe and became a worldwide phenomenon that spread across the world.

Probably one of the greatest models of the kinds of autos that you can discover in these places is the famous Smart car. This unusually tiny car was built in 1993 by Daimler-Benz and the Swiss watchmaker - Swatch.

Together the two companies began a joint venture best-known as the Micro Compact Car AG - which was placed in Switzerland. These cars were made with the engineering and quality we know of Mercedes - but with the unusual design from Swatch.

Merge these two together and they produced what was plainly recognized as the Smart City-Coupe - which was produced for the European urban public. Not only were they made to let for better parking - but also to amend gas mileage.

In order to keep this unique tiny car dependable they established it with a “tridion” safety cell so that it could handle being hit by bigger cars. The cell was developed with three levels of reinforced steel and was able to absorb the impact during a crash and to shield the people within.

It did not take long for individuals to be impressed with the Smart and soon it became a worldwide phenomenon. By 2003 they began to make more models of the smart were created and being sold in Europe and 36 other countries. You may even recieve an oppurtunity to see a few driving in the United States.
