The Hyundai Company is all set to launch the new rival to the Maruti 800 auto in the Indian market. Yes,The cheapest car from Hyundai is Just 2.5 lakhs Articles we are talking about the Hyundai Eon which is expected to lock horns with the likes of Chevrolet Spark and the numero Uno Maruti Alto. In the past very few cars have been able to replicate the success of the Maruti in the 800 cc category. The Hyundai Eon is on course and will be on the roads on the October 13th 2011. The car is expected to come with an attractive price tag of 2.5 lakhs and up wards.

The South Korean car maker Hyundai Auto says that the Hyundai Eon will be equipped with a modern 800 cc engine and will have the requirements of an ideal Indian auto mobile in terms of the mileage and quality. Going by the current demand for the compact and entry level cars in the Indian market priced between Rs 3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh the competition sure looks to have heated up for the likes of Hyundai company.

The more worrying factor seems to be the rising costs of petrol and the trend moving towards the diesel cars and off course the already existing competition in the compact car segment. Hyundai sure has its hands full and it will be interesting to see how Hyundai manages to come out of this stiff position apart from the competition with the likes of Maruti India’s Maruti Alto and Chevrolet’s Chevrolet Spark.

However Hyundai seems to have learnt from its past mistakes and has some never before introductions with the Hyundai eon. The car comes with an 814 cc engine and easily hits the 48 bhp mark with a maximum torque of 50 Nm. The car can easily seat up to 4 passengers and is equipped with five gear transmission. The launch of the Hyundai Eon is expected to bring in the much needed volume in sales and establish the number two position of the company in the Indian market. In fact pre launch reports suggest the company is getting ready for an all out war against the Maruti Alto and the Chevrolet Spark.

The car for a 2.5 lakh base price looks nothing like an entry level cheap car. Apart from the looks the car’s performance and quality also is nothing like a cheap small car.The car is already touted as the next Maruti 800 and is in fact being heralded as the Hyundai 800 in the auto circuit by the fans. The Hyundai Company claims that the car delivers 21.1kpl. Looks like Hyundai Eon sure is going to be in for a long haul on the Indian roads.
