Toyota recall 500,000 vehicles worldwide

While in 2010 already more than 4.2 million models were recalled for pedal issue last Wednesday a possible failure of the crankshaft pulley was found, resulting in more recalls 550,000 cars. This is a result of 79 complaints from customers about a possible default of this part of the car that the Japanese announced that the brand would cover the repair or replacement of defective parts. Models that could be affected by this fault are: Alphard, Avalon, the Camry, Highlander and Sienna. Models produced by the subsidiary Lexus brand are also apparently affected by this problem. Models ES300, ES330, RX300, RX330 and RX400h also benefit from this reminder. The complaints included a defect of adhesion of the outer ring and the crankshaft damper.

 

Defect that produce noise or load failure of the electrical system in the worst case, a loss of power steering making management harder.  However, no accident due to any defect that has not yet been reported.  Toyota will send a letter to all owners of models referred to monitor the condition of this piece. In France, this recall will affect 398 Lexus RX300 models built between June 2004 and March 2005. The Japanese brand since 2010 connects scandals and recalls car splashed reputation.  Negative impact on the volume of sales, which led him to prevent problems than to cure.

Toyota has launched the latest generation Toyota Alphard MPV, and this time around the Alphard also gets a twin with minor exterior differences portraying a more aggressive look called the Toyota Vellfire.
