Useful Car Preventive Maintenance Tips

Car preventive maintenance is something that you do in order to keep-up the performance of your car along with removing the possibility of any sudden breakdown of any part of the car

Following a few car preventive maintenance tips not only keep-away the heavy workshop bills but also increases the longevity of the car considerably. Here are few useful preventive maintenance tips for different parts of a car.

1)Battery: - The battery power plays a very important role in the uninterrupted performance of a car and thus its regular maintenance is must. Check the battery fluid level on a weekly basis and refill it with distilled water if required. A battery can expose harmful gases, thus whenever working (cleaning or adjusting) on a battery extreme caution should be taken. A car battery generally lasts for up to 3 years duration. Every time you leave for a long journey, make sure that your battery is fully charged and there are no issues with its functioning.

2)Brakes: - As most of us are aware, the brakes are one of the most frequently used components of a vehicle and thus, it wears-out much quicker then any other component of a car. If not maintained properly, the worn-out brakes can cause a severe damage to overall braking system. Check the brake fluid on a monthly basis and refill it if required.    

3)Engine oil - For maintaining the performance of a car up to the mark, the engine oil should be changed in every 5,000 km or three months. The engine oil keeps the components of the engine lubricated and saves it from overheating.

4)Fluids: - There are a number of fluids that play an essential role in trouble free running of a car that comprises of battery fluid, transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant fluid etc. All of these types of fluids should be checked / maintained on a monthly basis.

5)Others: - The other components that should be checked on a regular basis include air filter, belts, exhaust, hoses, oil filterHealth Fitness Articles, tyres and wiper bladed.
