Fish bowl containers and retail wire racks are a couple of the most common display fixtures for retail businesses,5 Tips for Creating Merchandise Displays with Fish Bowls and Retail Wire Racks Articles and so pairing them together only makes sense for many storeowners.

However, before you start placing orders for containers and racks, or looking for the containers and racks you already have available, take some time to look over these five tips to help yourself create the most convenient and safest merchandise display you can.

Tip #1: Choose Your Fish Bowls Wisely

You can find fish bowl containers made of plastic or glass, and while both materials offer attractive display options, you must be sure to choose the material that you feel is safest for your particular store and customer needs.

If your store doesn’t see an extremely high volume of traffic, or the customers you normally deal with are adults who aren’t likely to get caught up in the excitement of a fish bowl filled with candy, glass fish bowls might be a viable option for your display. However, if your store stays pretty busy or there are generally lots of children who want to get their hands on your colorful candies, plastic fish bowls might be the safer choice.

Tip #2: Select Sturdy Retail Wire Racks

Plastic fish bowl containers are generally lightweight, and glass fish bowl containers aren’t exactly heavy, but when you fill either kind with merchandise, there’s a lot more weight to consider. You want to make sure to choose retail wire racks that will not only hold up to the weight of your filled containers but will also hold strong should a customer accidentally bump into them.

Tip #3: Don’t Overfill Your Fish Bowls

No matter what sizes of fish bowl containers you choose, you might be tempted to fill them to the brim with merchandise. Note, though, that doing this will make the containers heavier, opening the door to an accident should a customer bump into your retail wire rack.

Also, if your containers are too filled with merchandise, your customers won’t find browsing your merchandise a convenient experience.

Tip #4: Don’t Overstock Your Wire Racks

Just as you don’t want to overfill your fish bowls, you also don’t want to overstock your retail wire racks. No matter how sturdy the rack is, if it’s holding more containers than what will fit comfortably and conveniently on each shelf, the rack could collapse or the slightest bump from a customer could cause it to wobble and send the containers to the ground.

Also, too many containers on one rack makes browsing for just the right item an inconvenient task for your customers.

Tip #5: Situate Your Racks In A Safe Area

Despite all the precautions you’ve taken up until this point – both to make sure you display is convenient to your customers and safe for your customers – it’s still best to situate your retail wire rack filled with fish bowl containers in a safe, low-traffic area of your store.

This doesn’t mean you need to place it in a corner far away from customers or any other merchandise, but it does mean you need to take such measures as making sure it doesn’t block your customers’ paths to any other merchandise or area of the store.
