A credit crunch Christmas Party – No Problem!

Fact – the credit crunch is well and truly upon us.

Getting confirmation that we are now in a full blown recession doesn’t have to mean automatically cancelling your office Christmas party.

Despite lots of redundancies and tightening party budgets it is very important to keep up the morale of the existing staff and what better way to do it than to have a good old fashioned knees up at the end of the year! The Christmas Party market has taken notice of decreasing budgets and lower staff numbers so have amended the packages accordingly. From as little as £25 per head you can still have a fantastic party in a spectacular Christmas party venue by following some of the Company Christmas tips below:

  • Christmas party catering: Buffets often require less event staff and equipment compared to sit down meals so can cut down the party costs. You could even cut down from a three course to a two course?
  • Why not have a Christmas lunch party instead of a dinner event – having two party bookings in one Christmas venue in one day can split costs for the party organisers.
  • Hotels often have more expensive bars than bespoke Christmas party venues.
  • Drinks vouchers are often cheaper than drinks over the bar.
  • Transport is an expensive part of a lot of office parties. We have Christmas parties all over the country so try to find one nearby.
  • Shared staff parties give the big party feel with the costs shared amongst a large number of people.
  • Speak to other departments to see if you can team up and share costs.
  • See our tax free Christmas parties article for how to claim back some of the event costs.
  • Give us a ring and see if we can give you any more ideas.

Remember: Your staff still work just as hard and deserve rewarding just as much in this testing time.
