Gas boilers are used to heat water by burning a fuel source. The most commonly used fuel source for this process is natural gas or liquefies petroleum gas. Depending upon the needs of the consumers there are different types of boilers that are available in the market. Many factors contribute to choosing the right variety for the consumer needs ranging from the space required to set the boiler to the nonstop supply of hot water for the homes.

Three major types of gas equipments are widely used nowadays they are system,An Overview of the Types of Gas Boilers Articles combination (combi) and open vented systems. These three boilers are widely used and are highly efficient in heating water for homes. Now let us see in detail how three types of boilers work.

System Gas boiler

System gas equipment is also known as sealed system variety does not require any cold water tank so the additional space can be saved. The main use of the gas system boiler is that heats the central heating in the home directly and produces hot water for the cylinders. The working of a system boiler is similar to a regular boiler and applies the principles of stored hot water. The main use of this boiler is that it consumes very little space because the necessary components that are required for heating are built into the boiler itself which makes it the heating process quicker and more efficient. The other main advantage is that since the boiler uses the heating system to the radiators and hot water cylinder it is much faster and the maintenance cost is low. System equipments are usually installed in homes which require hot water in more than one place at the same time.

Combination gas boilers

Combination gas equipments heat the water whenever a hot water tap is turned on. Hot water is supplied to the home or the property on demand directly from the main supply. They do not require any tank for the storage of cold water and thus save space. Since the water is directly fed from the main the pressure of the water is higher than the traditional systems. These types of systems are widely used in gas central heating and in domestic hot water production. Consumers prefer the combi boilers as it is very reliable, easy to install, requires less space and lower maintenance costs. They can produce hot water when needed and only when it is needed.

Open vent boilers

They provide the required heating and hot water through a set of two tanks usually installed in the loft of the home. One of these tanks feed the system and the radiator and the others feed the open vent hot water cylinder. The flow rates of them are high for the domestic needs. These systems are usually installed in large properties or larger homes where the usage of several hot water taps may occur simultaneously. The main advantage of using this type of system is that is can supply hot water continuously and simultaneously to more the one water taps.
