Best ways to find Free Article directory,Best ways to find Free Article directory, Submission Sites Articles Submission Sites

Have ever done a search for something like 'article submission sites by pr' or 'article directory sites by PageRank and similar searches, and gotten tons and tons of results? I'm going to tell you some tips that you can use to easily find article sites on your own.

Ok, now that everyone is on the same page, after you get those results you might be wondering, something like which site is best or which site has the best list of article submission sites or even which site lists all of the article directories?

Well, if you want an easier way to take out the guess work from such questions, I'm going to provide you 3 tips to follow to accomplish this task.

Step 1 (optional) - Install Google Toolbar  This is solely for the purpose of getting the EXACT PageRank (PR) number of a website, based on Google's PageRank system.

Once you've installed the toolbar, and most likely had to restart your browser, the toolbar will now be installed. Now, using the default settings pr is already enabled on the toolbar, so look at your toolbar and the 5th icon from the Google search box (or 4th icon after the Search icon button) is the Google PageRank bar.

When you hover over the PageRank bar a PR number out of 10 will appear letting you know the PageRank of a website. To test it out, go to EzineArticles and when the page loads, hover over the PageRank bar, and at the time of this article you will notice the PageRank is 6/10.

If you want to try more sites, go ahead, even go back to the Google toolbar site link and you will see that the PageRank is 7/10, pretty cool, right?

Well, that's enough testing, time for the next tip...

Step 2 - Google Directory  If you are not using Google Directory, it might be time to start. Basically, it's an easy way to find similar sites that are listed based on the category they best fit into. So, in this case we want all sites that are listed in the Google Directory that are most likely to deal with article submissions.

Head over to Google Directory by typing directory into the Google search engine, it will normally be the first link, so just click that link to head there. Next, do a search for 'article submission'. On the results page, under each link to a website, you will see

Category: Directory >sub-directory > sub-directory > etc.

Click this link, and you should be at

Business > Publishing and Printing > Publishing > Services > Free Content

which is here, if you didn't want to click through each category. You will notice that each article submission site is automatically listed by it's Google Pagerank. If you're curious to what the exact number is for the page, just open the article site you want to visit and check the PageRank on the Google toolbar.

What I like about doing this is sites that may not be listed as most popular can be in the directory, giving you another source to submit articles to and drive traffic to your website.

Step 3 - Alexa Directory  Now, we are going to accomplish the same thing, but with Alexa.com and the directory they use. The main difference is Alexa has their own ranking system that differs a bit from Google, but still the same concept. So, head over to the Alexa Directory.

Now, you should be able to browse by category, so you want to go to the following Category, followed by its subcategories to get a nice list of article submission sites:

All Categories > Business > Publishing and Printing > Publishing

You should see a list of article directory sites in this category that are ranked by their Alexa ranking. If you prefer to see a Google PageRank over an Alexa rank, just open the link of the article site and hover over the PageRank bar on the Google toolbar to get a Google ranking of the page.

In closing  That's going to be it! Pretty easy, right? You can always do a search for the most popular article submission sites like mentioned at the beginning, but if you're looking for more sites to give you more options to get more traffic, this is a good way to get a nice list of sites that might not be so mainstream.
