Developers of a 26-story luxury apartment building in Boston,on the edge of Chinatown,Boston’s Chinatown Gets a Makeover Articles have said that they will begin construction of project within the next few months.This building will be the latest addition to a list of apartment buildings that are currently getting built across the city.This construction project, managed by one of the leading developers in the country, will potentially provide 240 Luxury Apartment Boston.There will also be a new restaurant built on the site of the presently vacant Dainty Dot building at 120 Kingston Street.The demolition of the existing Dainty Dot is expected to begin in a few weeks time and the construction of the new apartment tower is expected to start shortly afterward.The project developers are optimistic about being able to lease the building out to residents by the spring of 2014 at the earliest.The project developer had initially planned to build a mix of apartments and condominiums on the site but has decided to change the building plan to include only apartments.The building, which will include a range of units from studios to three-bedrooms, had initially been approved in the spring of 2008.However, its progress was halted because of the financial issues plaguing the developer due to the economic recession.There were also some concerns about the design of the building.The building was designed by a reputable company which has handled similar projects before.They planned for the materials to feature a mix of glass, granite, and concrete.When interviewed by the media, a principal of the development company remarked that once the existing building has been removed, the Boston people will be able to walk around a well-lit and lively site instead of a dark unattractive one.The $130 million project will also contribute about 2,200 square feet of outdoor space to the Chinatown section of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway.The park will be widened significantly as a result which residents are pleased about.The new building will also feature a large outdoor patio connected to a 5Article Search,000-square-foot restaurant.The construction project was jump-started by the involvement of a Cleveland-based firm.This firm will be making its Boston debut with this building.The firm is a national developer that has been operating in the region since 1984 and it has headed multiple prestigious projects.The head of Cleveland-based firms Boston office has said that the latest construction project will hopefully become a gateway to the citys Financial District.He also said that this project would likely increase the visibility and use of Chinatowns section of the Greenway.This could potentially make Boston a more viable place for people looking to purchase homes to live in as opposed to renting.
