This type of environment is necessary to ensure that all ideas are brought up. If someone hesitates to speak, it could be that person's idea that was the best one out of the entire group. Teams should also realize that after someone shares an idea, that idea now belongs to the whole group, not just the person who mentioned it. The conversations that go on after this should tie directly into the subject at-hand and should not reflect the individuals within the team.

Using this method takes away any fear among team members so that the issues can be talked about in a professional manner. Members who offer up ideas that get rejected could lead to further discussion that would not have happened without those ideas being brought up. That is why a team is far more important than each individual on the team because every contribution should be taken into consideration.

In order to avoid any kind of major dissension among team members, healthy debate must be allowed. Each person should be able to speak out to prevent one or two individuals from monopolizing the conversation. If people are afraid to share ideas to avoid an argument, it will decrease the team's productivity. Any members that feel the need to criticize must let others speak. Although it is difficult for everyone on a team to come to a totally mutual agreement on something, everyone on the team should accept others' opinions and at least give them the floor to share their thoughts, even if they don't gel with everyone involved.
