Many business use warehouses as part of their operations, with uses ranging from distribution centres to retail points. Your premises should help to show your business in a positive light, but are yours letting you down.

As a consumer,Does your warehouse promote your business? Articles I've noticed that a lot of businesses seem to make use of warehouses as a means of displaying their goods and selling direct to members of the public.

It's easy to see why selling in this way has become so popular. Warehouses offer businesses the chance to have large premises, enabling them to display a larger range of goods that would be possible in a small store.

Since warehouses are usually constructed away from town and city centres, the cost of building and of leasing land will be considerably lower. This means that structures can be bigger and that more parking can be provided on the same site.

A trip to the local DIY goods provider or garden centre will now almost inevitably involve a trip to one of these out-of-town warehouse buildings.

The look and feel of the warehouse is very important to many consumers - probably more important than warehouse retailers realise.

Walking into such an environment and discovering that it is cluttered, dirty or poorly organised can make a real difference when it comes to deciding where to shop.

The same applies to the exterior of the premises. If the warehouse is poorly maintained then it generally suggests that this may not be a business that takes care of its premises, products or customers.

Getting the exterior of a warehouse cleaned is a specialist job, but there are a number of UK building cleaning companies who are able to provide cost efficient solutions.

If your warehouse looks like it's seen better days then now might be a good time to think about calling in some experts to get it cleaned.

Failing to act could mean that you are losing customers.
