Though 2011 wasn't the most remarkable year of cinema ever, there are a number of huge films and amazing offerings for cinemaphiles. The year came out with some excellent follow ups, remakes and of course new and creative wonders. So, what are our must see films of 2011 in conjunction with SKY Movies?

Captain AmericaWhere would we be without a Marvel super hero epic and fortunately we were given one of the good ones this year with the coming of the excellent Captain America - The First Avenger. Chris Evans takes up the mantle as the righteous of the righteous and is joined by a full on cast to create a very good adaption of the comic book. Captain America looks fantastic and the styling of the movie is close to astounding,Fantastic Films of 2011 Articles Joss Whedon who directed the film has a number more in the pipeline, before all the Avengers come together for next May's huge Avengers blockbuster where the Captain, Iron Man and the rest meet up to save the planet. HobbitThough it is not released yet, we're all nearly stiff in anticipation for the coming of the Hobbit - the prequel to Lord of The Rings. Released on the 31st of December - because they can - The Hobbit looks set to be a fine end to the year. After a number of New Zealand based problems, it seems that Middle Earth is well and truly back on the map. Created on the same scale as Peter Jackson's trilogy, The Hobbit looks set to have all the adventure, fantasy and excitement we all loved in Lord of the Rings and are sure to love in this. The Hangover IIWith the success of the Hangover part one - the Hangover II had a lot to live up to. Fortunately the sophomore release delivered in style and the gangs trip to Thailand is full of the hilarious misdemeanours you would expect from the films. Aside from the fairly similar story, it is a laugh a minute and with cameos from Bill Clinton and again from Iron Mike Tyson this one is a must see and was one of the funniest of 2011 without doubt and essential if you get Sky.com with a discount code. Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsThe final film in the series of eight by JK Rowling was one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year and fortunately delivered in style. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a wonderful achievement and a great way for the movies to wrap up. With an all star cast, amazing special effects and characters loved by both movie goers and readers of the books this was a special one. Released during the summer, fans thronged to see this Film, with the grown up cast coming a long way from the original on screen production.127 HoursDirected by Danny Boyle of Trainspotting fame, this film stars the excellent James Franco, who plays a hiker who gets trapped in a creek for 127 hours without food or water. This tale of survival is one that will warm the heart strings and have viewers in awe at James Franco's amazing talent. The true story looks incredible, is extremely intense and may see Danny Boyle up for more Oscar's come next year and great to watch on a Sky box with a discount code. Super 8This film shouts Stephen Spielberg and comes with the usual wonderful big sci-fi film in typical J.J Abrams style. Super 8 is a little different, very beautiful and the story is amazing. This film with Jake Gyllenhaal us probably the one for you. This sci-fi sees Jake inserted into people's consciousness to relive events and crimes and discover what really happened.
