The world’s largest ship,Get to know the world’s largest ship, the Energy Efficient Triple-E Articles the Triple-E, is well on its way to sail the seas. The international shipping industry is going to witness yet another gigantic vessel bearing the name “Triple-E”. The new Triple-E ships are said to be highly energy efficient.  Sailing under Maersk Line’s colors, the world’s largest ship is well on its way to take the shipping industry to new levels of efficiency.

Maersk Line is the company that owns the current largest operational ship, the Emma Maersk. Now, Maersk Line has entered into contract with a Korean shipbuilding and marine engineering company, Daewoo, to build ten Triple-E vessels, which are said to be even bigger than the Emma Maersk. A triple-E vessel is not only designed to carry the largest amount of cargo containers but to work as an energy efficient vessel. However, its biggest attraction is not the impressive size, measuring 400 meters in length and 59 meters wide, but in the fact that it is going to sail with very low fuel and energy consumption. It is being said that the Triple-E’s are not going to be mere “Gas Guzzlers” – they will be sailing at the same speeds as the industry does in general, but it will consume much less fuel and energy.

The energy efficient Triple-E vessel is going to make strong ripples in the shipping world with its cost effective services. It has been designed with a “twin skeg” propulsion system, which means that there are two engines and two propellers in this vessel, which helps lessenfuel and energy consumption. It is going to make a huge difference when the world’s largest ship will be sailing with the maximum amount of cargo containers and that it will be doing so in an energy efficient manner. Another important feature is its cut down in CO2 emissions. Due to its twin skeg engine, it will not only be consuming less fuel but it will also emit twenty percent less carbon dioxide per container moved. This means that the Triple-E vessels will be energy efficient as well as environmentally friendly.

It will not be long before the Triple-E vessels will be sailing the seas. Cost effective shipping and highly reliable shipping services are just a matter of time now. For more details visit www.worldslargestship.com.
