In Newbury,Great activities in Newbury Articles there are no end of activities, indoor, outdoor and free. You can be sure that in turn there is something for everyone to see and do in the area as well as the town. At any one time in the town there are a lot of family friendly things to do and see and interactive hands-on exhibitions. Visit the best attractions and activities in or near Newbury and you can be sure you will be able to have a great time and experience in the area.

The most notable landmark places to see and visit, include:

  • Highclere Castle. The 5,000-acre (2,000 ha) estate is in Hampshire, England, United Kingdom, about 5 miles (8.0 km) south of Newbury, Berkshire. It is the county seat of the Earl of Carnarvon, a branch of the Anglo-Welsh Herbert family. In recent years this has been the place of which BBC hit series Downton Abbey has been filmed.
  • Newbury Racecourse. Perhaps the biggest testament to how good a racecourse Newbury is comes with the news that it has been voted Racecourse of the Year five times in a row – no other has come close to matching that accolade. The key to Newbury’s popularity is that it has high-class Flat and National Hunt racing throughout they year, with perhaps the best mix of any racecourse – evening meetings with well-known pop groups, Saturday and Sunday fixtures, quieter midweek meetings for aficionados and one of the best jumps races outside of the Cheltenham Festival, in the shape of the Hennessy Gold Cup. It is easy and quick – an hour - to reach by train from London, and by car, and viewing is excellent.
  • West Berkshire Museum. West Berkshire Museum is housed in two of Newbury’s best loved historic buildings - the 17th century Cloth Hall and the old Granary / Corn Stores in the Wharf. The museum explores stories of life in our area, from pre-history to today.
  • Corn Exchange. The Corn Exchange Trust manages three key spaces; the Corn Exchange which includes a 400 seat auditorium, a 40 seat independent cinema and thriving café; New Greenham Arts our 120 seat black box studio and rehearsal space, 1000 square foot gallery, artist studios and workshop space; and 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space for the development of large-scale outdoor performances and residencies. Getting local people engaged with our creative activities lies at the heart of what we do and we run a flourishing participation programme 'Get Involved'.
  • Welford Park. Welford Park is a country house and estate in the village of Welford in the English county of Berkshire, situated 5.2 miles northwest of Newbury and 10.9 miles south of Wantage. Whilst of some historical significance, the estate is perhaps best known for its displays of snowdrops in early Spring, and for being the location of BBC One's The Great British Bake Off since 2014.

Newbury has a great deal of variety when it comes to how it can be sure to offer something for all to see and do when it comes to things to do. No matter when you are visiting you can be sure that there will be something for everyone. Whether you want to get a history fix, get some exercise of what ever it is you want you can be sure to get it.
