To include perfection it is necessary that the design of the product is followed completely. Sometimes designs include certain cuts and cavities through which they plan to take certain tasks. In metallic products it is hard to follow the pattern all the time because there are some places which are difficult to tackle. If the cut is not made properly then it will ruin the design of the product and the product will not look up to the mark. EDM wire is used in such places which can not be reached by machines as well as by humans.De-ionized water is compulsory element for this process because before making a cut in the metal it should be dipped in this water. De-ionized water ease this process and it allows EDM wire to make a more appropriate, accurate and near to design cut. This process is largely followed in those industries in which complex metal parts are transformed and accuracy and precision are considered to be essential elements. If a company wants to find and follow such a process which helps them in achieving cost efficiency and accuracy then EDM wire is the answer of their problems. This process is cost efficient because the followers of this process do not have to bear the tool cost which includes changing of broken tools due to hard and difficult work. This process is a little bit slow as compared to traditional CNCC machine but it is more accurate.EDM wire machine is also called Spark Erosion and it is because its cutting process includes sparks. This method removes the excess material from a work piece or carves certain pattern on a work piece which makes it fit for the required task. In EDM two electrodes are used to make cuts in the metal and it is due to these electrodes that workers do not have to heat and cool the material. Before EDM cuts were made in hard metals by heating them of so that required design can be carved in the metal. After the metal was carved by the worker it was cooled again so that it can come in its previous stage. This process was not appropriate as it reduces the strength of the metal because of which the metal could not be used in such processes in which these parts have to bear great burden. The de-iodized water used in this EDM process also flushes down all the waste material which saves great time of workers. This liquid also clears all the debris on the work piece.
