Your team is integral to your company’s impact. You can’t have impact alone. No one can.

How can you create an environment where they can flourish while they contribute to your mutual impact? With impactful leadership. Here are 3 ways you can implement impactful leadership in relation to your team:

  1. Be interested in them. Ask them about the impact they want to have.
  1. Find alignment between the company’s impact and their desired impact. Are they in the right role where the two mesh? Either move them into that role,How Impactful Leadership Helps Your Team Members Flourish Articles or create a new role.
  1. Release someone if they’re not contributing in a positive way. If someone isn’t a good fit and role switching isn’t the solution, let them go. This person and their dissatisfaction affects everyone in the company, and therefore your impact. This aspect of impactful leadership can feel heartless, but it’s really the opposite. Being nurturing in developing an uplifting environment for all your team members is full of heart. And the person who isn’t a fit will ultimately be happier, and able to contribute more, elsewhere.

Creating an environment where impact and people can flourish isn’t easy. It requires some tough decisions. An ongoing interest in your team, their hopes and dreams, and a focus on impact will help you feel better about those choices, even as you build a company where people want to and can have impact.
