The corporate leaders must lean an important management message that the weight of the ........
A well grown elephant will weigh about 5 tones. Indeed the weight and body mass of an elephant is amazing. The more amazing thing about an elephant is its spongy feet. The feet of an elephant are spongy and it spreads well to carry the weight of the massive mammoth. Because of the spongy nature of the feet, elephants rarely only leave their foot print on the track.
Imagine if the elephant does not have spongy feet means the track on which they walk would easily get trampled and sooner or later, the terrain on which elephant walk would go as barren desert.
Because of the spongy nature of the feet it spreads while the elephant walks. Only because it could spread, the feet of an elephant could balance and carry its weight.
The management message to be drawn from the above is that the people who are ‘powerful’ and have ‘authority’ must be soft it their approach. Power and authority of people in corporate is like the massive weight of an elephant. How nature has made the feet of an elephant to be spongy and spread to carry its weight, the corporate must guide such ‘powerful’ people to be soft in their approach and attitude towards others.
Unfortunately, power and humility/humbleness never goes together. On the contrary, arrogance only prevails in the domain of power. Most of the powerful people in corporate easily resort to quick actions/ decisions. Hardly they think or analyze the pros and cons of their actions but always wish only to prove their ‘power’.
Look at the wisdom of nature. When such a massive elephant is made, the nature was careful in making its feet spongy and not hard. It appears that nature knows well that spongy feet can bear and balance the weight of an elephant easily than the hard feet. Hard feet never spread whereas the spongy feet could spread. If the powerful leaders in corporate are soft in their approach, they can go deep inside various issues. Only when one gets to the root of an issue, correction or solution is possible.
Corporate decisions should not be based on the superficial learning or understanding. To understand different issues in the corporate, they need to be soft in their approach. Only when they are soft, they can reach people and can gain their acceptance.
Look at the management insight of nature. Balancing the odds smartly to tap the best performance is the management principle nature has always followed. The corporate leaders must not miss to learn the management message of how the locomotion of an elephant is governed.
Remember to be soft in your approach if you are powerful and if you are not soft means you have no powers.
