How to Find a Job without Work Experience

Most of the people who enter the job market claim that they are inexperienced. However, everyone is good at something and can find a job provided that there is a willingness to work. There are jobs out for everyone; only a right approach is required. When you enter the job market you must be well aware of your goals. You should clearly define your goals- what you aim for and what you are willing to do to achieve those goals. Here are some simple steps that can help any fresher or college graduate to find a job with no experience:

Identify your talent and skills:

If you are applying for a job you must be clearly aware of your hidden talent. You should highlight your daily routine and activities you love to indulge in from morning to night. Also, clearly categorize the things you wish or love to do and those which you hate doing. If you are a student you could mention about your research work, internship period, organizing skills, reading or writing skills, communication and presentation skills, hobbies or interests. Other soft skills like leadership, administrative skills etc should also be mentioned.

Build a resume which highlights your strengths and disguises your weaknesses:

Always remember that employers care about the skills which you have acquired over lifetime and not the skills which you were paid for. You can find a job by filling your CV with other types of work like volunteer, committee work, community work, service club work etc. Mention those skills that you exploited and developed while you were engaged in these activities. Also, do make a mention about the competitions and awards or honors you have received. Make sure that you write your experiences and accomplishments in complete sentences. Try to create bullet points for each skill on your resume.

Gather experience through internship and volunteer activities:

Volunteer work or internship is an excellent idea through which you can acquire work experience and land into a dream job of your choice. In this way you can develop and utilize valuable skills and get a good reference. There are many voluntary and non-profit organizations that offer work experience. Most of these organizations do not pay but provide networking connections, resources and time to search for an ideal job of your choice.

Build a network of people around you:

In the job world it is very important to build a network of people. Tell your friends, relatives and colleagues that you are looking for a job. This can prove quite beneficial as you never know when you will get into a job that best suit you. A list of references can help you to get into a job you are looking for. Don't forget to write your references, including addresses and phone numbers on your resume. Also mention about the organization's name and its contact information as this would help potential employers to make a check on your references.
