Although it is useful to be able to spot these individuals, you also need to be aware of the fact that others will be motivated by completely different issues.

All of these elements need to be taken into account when you are thinking about your own management style. What this means is that it's likely that you'll have to deal with different issues in a multitude of differing ways, depending upon the individual involved. By attempting to apply the same fix in all situations, you may discover that you run into difficulties.

Does this mean that you can only really become inspirational once you have a considerable amount of experience? Although that's certainly something that may hold true, there's an enormous amount of scope for improvement here. The whole process begins, of course, with you needing to spend the time getting to understand your employees.
