In most of the homes the residents haven’t really decorated their garden, but a huge number of people like to place some kind of decorations in their garden. Now-a-days concrete decorations are very in. These decorations are available for both, indoor and outdoor, and in different shapes and designs. The cost of these decorations also varies according to the material used and the design of the decoration. When one looks at these masterpieces they might think that it is quite difficult to make these decorations, well that’s not true, as several decorations like stepping stones, animal shapes and planters can be made at home by a person himself/herself. This article mentions some point which makes it possible for a person to create custom shaped decorations for their gardens.

The first step is to decide what you want to make, after that buy an mold kit from the market with the specific shape. For example for stepping stones the specific shape can be bought from the craft, hobby, nursery or garden supply stores. Once you have the specific shape, think along the lines that what you more you might need. One thing is to be noted that if you want to finish up your project quickly or you are making several decorations at one time then do purchase more than one kit to speed up the work. Once everything is bought, the next step is to read the instructions manual carefully that comes along with the kit, and then chooses a level place to begin your project. Once you have set the mold of its place then try not to move it, otherwise it will be damaged. Once the concrete has set and has become solid over the period of two or three days, then it can be removed from the mold and is ready for the finishing touches, that is, if you want to do those, like painting the decoration.

In making these decorations as mentioned above concrete is used, which is easily available from the market, choose a concrete that you like or prefer and then follow the directions to make a right mixture for use in the mold. These directions to make the mixture are available on the back of the packet of the concrete that you buy. Remember, if the mixture isn’t made according to the set of the instruction given at the back, then you won’t be able to make a good decoration piece as the concrete might be too weak or too hard or watery and won’t hold up for long. When the decoration is removed from the mold it should be placed inside for a week to allow it to cure before placing it in the garden as doing this step would prevent it from breaking or cracking up. One safety tip should be remembered during all of this process, that is, make sure that you wear gloves and eye goggles all the time to prevent any concrete from going into the eye and to prevent any skin burns from the concrete.
