A breath of fresh air is not always as simple as it may seem.  Maintaining healthy Indoor Air Quality requires a concerted effort to ensure the air clean from pollutants and has proper circulation.  Air must be adequately brought in from outside the facility and evenly distributed throughout the working areas.  A Certified Industrial Hygienist can work with your company to ensure a healthy Indoor Air Quality for your facility.

The first step is for the Certified Industrial Hygienist to make a visit to your facility and take readings to accurately assess the air quality.  Each area will be explored to ensure uniform ventilation and pinpoint any areas with inadequate ventilation.  The ventilation system will be inspected to certify the actual unit is large enough to accommodate the facility properly.  A detailed report will then be composed and presented to the management team of your company.  Recommendations to improve the air quality will also be included.

Employees work in a close proximity to one another and it is essential for your company to focus on the Indoor Air Quality of the facility.  Disease can be quickly spread through an office with poor circulation.  Mold spores can be transported through the ventilation system to contaminate other areas.  It is essential to focus on each component and assess the whole.

A Certified Industrial Hygienist has the knowledge and specialized equipment needed to properly measure the Indoor Air Quality at your facility.  Any areas that have poor air quality should be immediately addressed.  Employees that work around aerosols and fumes should be provided the appropriate protective equipment to remain safe on the job.  Painters are typically stationed in a booth to prevent other areas from being contaminated.  Each worker is then given a protective mask to ensure harmful fumes are not inhaled.  The mask filters should be replaced on a regular basis and tested to ensure proper functioning order.
