"Chinese jewellers should have more confidence because many Western brands are making things in China and then they bring them back, so there is no shortage of skills."

"Over time, Shenzhen will prove to the world that it is the cradle of world-class jewellers," Fennell added. "It is only a matter of time before an international jewellery brand emerges from Shenzhen."
