How to legalize a document such that it is legal in a particular country?

Hague Convention Member Country

If you want your document to be legal in a country that is a member of the Hague convention, then what you need to do is to get the copy of your original document apostilled by the legalization office appointed to carry out the process. For UK document attestation, you have to go to the Legalization Office, Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Non-Hague Convention Member Country

If you want to present the document in a country that is not a member of the Hague Convention, then you have to carry out the process mentioned above. After that, you have to submit the Apostilled document to the Embassy of the destination country in your country. Legalization officer in the Embassy will attest the document. Now the document is a legal tender.

If the document is a court case decree and you want to present it to a country like Qatar, then you need to get it translated to Arabic otherwise the authorities in Qatar will not be able to read the document.
