It can also mean getting rid of unnecessary clutter. Duplicate papers, old machines that are no longer in use, that employee’s winter coat that has been hanging on the back of a chair for six months. These things lead to a disorganized workplace and, though you may not think so, can prove to be a real drain on productivity.
Don’t let office cleaning become so large of a task that it becomes overwhelming. If you have your employees do a little bit each day, it can make it far easier to keep a nice, clean work space. If you want to schedule times and tasks for the jobs, then do so. Otherwise, just try and make everyone understand the importance of keeping a clean space and let their own pride dictate when and how the jobs are done.
If you don’t think that office cleaning would be the best way for you and your employees to spend your time, you might want to think about hiring an outside staff. These professionals can come in after hours and get everything nice and tidy for the next day. If you’re short on funds, you can have them come in only once a week or so to spin things back into order. If you have security issues, you can even have them come in during the workday and quietly work around your employees.
