Comfort

This is something that is necessary for most chairs and tables in the establishment. The owner needs to make the employees comfortable enough that they can work well. Be careful to get furniture that's too comfortable though, because this can promote laziness in the workplace. In chairs, things that improve comfort are armrests and good back support. The height of the rests needs to be the right height because most workers will be sitting on these for the entire duration that they are working. These also need to be just right because too high can limit the movement of the worker. Imagine trying to reach for the printer or copier and rests that are too high get in the way. On the other hand, if these are too low, they might as well be nonexistent. Back support is necessary for those who are constantly typing and on the computer. Office furniture with little or no back support can cause back pain in the person using the seat. Once in a while the individual needs to lean back and rest his or her back on a sturdy seatback. It is also better to choose seats that can be adjusted according to the preferences of the user. Adjustments can be done for the height of the seat itself and the tilt of the seatback. The height of desks and table also need to be the right height according to the work that one is allotted. Employees who use the computer need a computer table that allows them easy access to the monitor and the keyboard. This means that the keyboard stand may be lower than the normal tabletop and the monitor may be higher. Cubby holes and other drawers and storage areas should be easy to access if the worker needs a lot of materials and supplies when working.

Function

The function of the seats, tables and desks need to be met when it comes to office furniture. Chairs with wheels are often necessary for individuals who need to get around their area quickly without any need to rise up and walk to close quarters. These seats provide quick and easy access to printers, copiers and other areas. Tables and desks also need to have the right compartments and drawers to accommodate the necessary equipment and materials that the workers will use. Filing cabinets are a necessity in offices as well.
