Pink Pearl Could Have Used Some Weight Loss Shakes

Many Marvel fans had no idea what the company was doing when the developed Pink Pearl, one of the heaviest villains in the Marvel Universe. Created as a Canadian terrorist, she had the look of a large housewife, wrapped in a massive pink sun dress and wearing a pearl necklace. Originally a member of a travelling circus, Pink Pearl would eventually decide to become a terrorist and assassinate the President of the United States and Prime Minister of Canada. While she had no super human powers, she was so obese that she could have easily slimmed down with some weight loss shakes. While it is unclear that she had any desire to lose weight, her massive obesity did not seem to add anything to the character's motivation of becoming a terrorist. While her blubber did function as a sort of defense, her morbid obesity and odd background did not help the character stick around long in the Marvel Universe. In fact Pink Pearl is not generally remembered by anyone not terribly obsessed with comic books or the Marvel Universe, but it also didn't help that she appeared in only a handful of comic storylines. Very few fans cite Pink Pearl as a favorite or even memorable villain from the Marvel collection. She had literally no appearances in future comic series, no appearances in any film, spinoff, book, or animated series. Appearing mainly as a novelty character, it seems that she may have been based off of someone that one of the artists or writers did not prefer - perhaps an evil stepmother or cranky aunt that they had to deal with as a youth. Had she consumed weight loss shakes to slim down and become a more skilled and lethal character, she may have survived in the Marvel world for a bit longer. Nevertheless, since Pink Pearl literally added nothing to the Marvel Universe, she would eventually be forgotten. This, as many fans will know, is much worse than being killed off in the comic book world. Ranked number 7 by ACB as one of the lamest comic book super villains ever, Pink Pearl is scorned by being unnecessarily huge, powerless, and annoying (Pink Pearl always spoke in the third person). Writers only explained her terrorist motivations by wanting to take control of the circus she was once in, but how this would have been achieved by killing the heads of state of the United States and Canada has yet to be understood by many. With no super human powers and nothing more than a massive body size, many fans agree she was one of the lamest super villains Marvel conjured up. Had Pink Pearl reduced her size with weight loss shakes and become a streamlined, stealthy, weapon-smart terrorist, she may have had a chance in the Marvel Universe.
