When a loved one dies,Science is Now Helping You Wear Your Deceases Loved Ones Articles the question of how they would be sent off is often tough on their family's minds. Some will go the traditional way and bury the deceased on the ground, while others may opt for alternatives to take care of their deceased remains. One such alternative is cremation, which has been in use for many years. However, after cremation, what do you do with the ashes?

This question often bothers many people who are left to think of what to do with the ashes. Some will wait for a few months or years before scattering the ashes. The rules and regulations regarding scattering of a loved one's ashes will have to be followed. Others will take the ashes and bury them, maybe at the garden at home, or in a natural burial ground provided by your town or city. Others still will take an urn and designate a special place at home for the ashes. After all, the ashes are the remains of a deceased loved one. There is however, a new method of taking care of the ashes, which is to turn them into a diamond, or diamonds.

There are some few companies in the US and other countries in Europe that are turning a deceased ashes to diamonds. These diamonds are often known as lab made diamonds, as they differ from natural diamonds in the manner in which they are made. Natural diamond is often made from carbon that is found deep within the earth. This carbon is then exposed to pressure and a lot of heat over millions of years. A diamond is then produced in the process. The diamonds often come to the surface after volcanic eruption that may force them out of the earth.

With the cremated ashes, we are made aware that the human body is made up of at least 18% carbon. This is backed by science, which states that the human body is composed of at least 6 chemical elements, which are oxygen (65%), carbon (18%), Hydrogen (10%), Nitrogen (3%), Calcium (1.4%) and Phosphorous (1%). When the human body is cremated, at least 2% of carbon will be available in the ashes. This ash will also likely contain a very small percentage of the other five chemical elements.

When you take the cremated ashes for turning into a diamond, what happens is that the ashes are placed under a lot of pressure and heat where the other elements present in the ash are oxidized, while the carbon present is turned into a graphite. This graphite will then be placed in a core, where it a metal catalyst and diamond seed crystal added to it. This will then be put under more pressure and heat, until the graphite finally turn into a crystal. This crystal will then be ready for cutting into a chosen shape.

This diamond is then what is used to remember the loved one with. Some people opt to have it made into a wearable jewel, which they can take with them everywhere they go, while others choose to have them kept somewhere safe at home.
