There are many companies and businesses that owe their success to the many Six Sigma projects, plans and programs they have implemented. There are still others that have had to step back and question the validity of the programs they have implemented that was not a six sigma program, when it should have been.

One of the main reasons that a company may want to think about undertaking a Six Sigma program is for customer requirements. In fact, improving customer requirements is most often the reason that an initiative is put into action. If a customer is demanding that the quality of a model should be at a certain level, this level must be implemented. Of course, if a company sees that another company's clients are benefiting from a certain Six Sigma program that they have not yet implemented, that company may want to follow in suit to keep up with the competition.

Keeping up with the competition is the next reason that many companies implement a Six Sigma program of some sort. There have been so many companies that have been benefiting from the implementation of some sort of Six Sigma program that many companies have done the same to stay ahead of the curve or at par with their competition.

Six Sigma programs are the perfect catalyst for performance improvements for any company. They are very effective for the company's major improvements and overall performance. This is also true of improvements in quality control and quality improvements in addition to important upgraded business processes.

Other reasons that a company might need to include a Six Sigma program include the support needs of leadership. The success of any program that is initiated must also include a Six Sigma team to ensure that the program is successful in every way that it is intended to be.
