There is much more that goes into finding an ergonomic office chair than most realize.  Everything from the seat depth to the arm height to the adjustable tilt should be considered when shopping.  For that reason,The Checklist To Proper Office Seating Articles here is a quick checklist to think about when shopping for office seating.

The first thing to look at is the seat depth adjustment.  Sadly, this is a feature that is missing from most office chairs, but is extremely important.  Because people come in all sizes, shapes and forms, it is crucial you are able to set the depth to suit your leg length.  You want to be able to place your fist between the edge of the seat pad and the back of your knee for proper positioning.

Back height adjustment is equally important with office seating so that you have good lower back support.  Try to avoid chairs that have an exaggerated lumbar foam infill support.  All that is really needed is a slightly curved foam back shell to provide the right adjustment for your back.

Moving right along, the next thing to look at is arm height adjustment.  In order to minimize or relieve repetitive strain injury, being able to properly adjust the chairs arms is necessary.  You want to set the arm height to a level where your lower arms are in conjunction with your desktop.

From there, take a look at the pneumatic seat height adjustment offered.  When properly adjusted your feet should set firmly on the floor with your upper legs angled slightly downwards.  If you are tall, avoid cheap imported chairs as they will not be able to suit your height range.

The final area to look at is the adjustable tilt tension offered for office seating.  Cheap chairs are going to come with a fixed tension seating for the seat base.  With this, the seat and back will move in ratio with each other.

If you are outside of the fixed mechanism weight design, you can say goodbye to the possibility of getting comfortable.  People too light will by flung out of the chair and it can make it difficult to lean back.  If you are large, the chair will have you bouncing every which way.

With that said, you make sure the office chair you purchase can be adjusted to suit your weight.  It is amazing how much of an impact a chair can have on your overall work ethic.  One is far more apt to work hard and stay focused if they have a comfortable chair that is properly adjusted from head to toe.
