Everyone has heard the saying that “All roads lead to Rome” This is an indication that transportation is one of the major factors that will indicate the growth if an economy. To measure transportation,Three Things to Consider to Measure Transportation Articles then, is an undertaking worth its cause. This means we have to see how effective the current transportation is and restructure the current setting if at all possible. The goal of transportation is to provide easy access for everyone. This means that people can reach their work places easily. And with easy transportation, logistics will also improve heavily.Of course, everyone knows that old management dictum. It says that you cannot manage what you cannot measure. It is wrong to make assumptions when it comes to management.  Data should clearly present the status of anything to clearly identify what causes the issues and then come up with strategies that are bound to work and not bound to fail. This is why it is important also for transportation management that the approach is data driven.Whenever there is heavy traffic, people are not productive. They are stuck in their cars doing nothing by fidgeting or smoking. By the time they get to the office, they are already late and so much time has been wasted.  Traffic does not always mean it is heavy. Traffic in itself only refers to vehicle movement. When studying traffic to improve transportation condition, one needs to identify the users—mostly motorists who own any vehicle—and the mode of measurement. It is fairly easy to measure traffic since every government has data on the number of vehicles currently registered. The government also has data on the accidents that happen in major areas or routes and they have numbers of parking spaces and tickets issues. All these numbers will determine how traffic is measured and there are certain ways to improve it.Mobility, on the other hand, refers to the movement not of the vehicles but people or products, goods, and services. It is definitely unquestionable that if goods are moved faster, it will benefit everyone better. This is beneficial to the business firm since goods are delivered on time. There is little likelihood that the goods will perish. For consumers, they can expect the goods to be available when they need it.Since speed is of essence here, what people need to look into are ways to improve speed. This means that there has to be ways to expedite the process of movement and this can be done with improving transportation such as trains, public buses, etc.  This may also include the improvement of parking areas so people will just walk from the parking place instead of cramping themselves in buildings and crowded places. The last thing to consider to measure transportation is accessibility. This is an indication or measurement of how people will reach what they want, whether these are tangible goods or services or amusement.  It has been said that the reason there is transportation is because everyone needs access to the placed they want and need to be.
