Sometimes I get prospective clients with “Coaching” on their minds; however,To Coach or to Mentor, That Is The Question Articles it is during the complimentary strategic session that I find out what they really need is a Mentor, not a Coach.

The signs are as follows:

Deep need for personal attention. Need to talk and get a lot off their chests. Rather be told what to do than figure it out and learn how to do it. They’re intellectually exhausted and creativity escapes them. They need someone who would listen and share with them their wisdom.

Here, in a nutshell, is what a Mentor does:

Mentoring: The mentor would listen carefully to your experiences. Will share with you some of his /her similar experiences with you, and will show you the way to wisdom and lessons learned, and will teach you how to better yourself from the things you have learned. Mentoring is about sharing wisdom.
