You might not have thought of using a calendar to advertise. Using a wall or desk calendar to draw in customers isn't really a new idea, though. In fact, it's a method that has been used for years to attract new customers to various businesses. You may have even been the recipient of a promotional calendar yourself, at some point.

Useful Advertising:

The number one reason that wall and desk calendars draw in customers is that they are useful advertising.  In other words, they don't get thrown out, usually.  Business cards and brochures aren't useful to your customers.  So, unlike calendars, they are likely to be wasted advertising.

Not only that, but calendars are extra useful because of how long they last.  An advertisement in a newspaper, for instance, might run for a day or a week.  A calendar is used for an entire year, though.

Of course, calendars are also considered to be a cheap form of advertising.  First of all, they are fairly inexpensive to have printed.  Also, though, they pay for themselves in a hurry.  So, unlike expensive billboards or similar methods, you won't have to spend a lot of money up front.

You also have to think about the fact that each calendar will be seen by more than one person.  In fact, a lot of them could be seen by dozens of people.  Some could even be seen by hundreds of people, as the year goes by.   That means that what you spend to have the calendar printed should be well worth it, since you're likely to get multiple customers, as a result.

Calendar Specifics:

Of course, you have to have certain calendar specifics, if you want them to be successful advertising tools.   First, make your calendar appealing.  Some of the best ways to do that are to include themes, pictures and, of course, large blocks that people can use to write their appointments in.   After all, if people can't track their appointments, they won't use the calendar.

You should also make sure that your company name and logo are prominently displayed on each calendar.  That way, people will begin to associate your company with the calendar and remember your company long after they have passed by it.

After that, it's important to include contact information for your company on the calendar.  It's also important to make sure that the information is free of typographical errors.  After all, people can't become your customers unless they can locate your company.
