Getting a critical view of their company and its operations,Why Six Sigma Works Articles is what many companies have endured by trained professionals in the six sigma methods. Six sigma uses simple steps in everyday business in the midst of the recent and current recession that is rocking the corporate world of business.

During the recent recession, many businesses have closed due to the problems of the economy, which seemingly cannot be helped. However, the six sigma method allows companies to identify the problem, analyze the problem, and establish a process for coordinating with the leaders of the company to see what can be done. Plan two is analyzing and identifying the process that impacted the problem: revenue is down due to the recession. List steps as they currently are: how much is lost, mapping the process is a popular way to see how the recession has affected a business.

Moving on to plan three involves developing solutions that will generate new business no matter what state the economy is in. The solution selection process is sometimes difficult because of the uncertainly caused by business bankruptcies. Paying close attention to trends and markets, including brainstorming for ideas are excellent ways to ride out the tough economy for a company looking for solutions to stay afloat.

Plan four is simply implementing solutions while continuing to brainstorm for solutions. A good solution should have a reversing affect on the recession. Past solutions have included expanding a product line to satisfy needs rather than wants and wishes. This expansion angle might include a new product or upgrading an existing product for more practical use.

Plan five is to gather data on the solution did the expansion work? Why or why not? Analyze the data gathered; did sales go up or did sales go down? Gathering data is important because this shows if any of the changes have made any difference or not. Finally, plan six adopts the solutions, implements training if necessary, and has verifiable evidence that the steps taken have worked. Continual support is needed when implementing the six sigma method but clearly the method can work, even for companies in a rough recession.
