A typical yellow belt would learn the basic models of six sigma, define, measure, analyze improve and control their environment only on a much smaller scale. A medium size business such as a music store would benefit from having a yellow belt six sigma on their team. The yellow belt also is exposed to other aspects of the business and has their own system designed for improvement and less waste.
The yellow belt program uses a plan called PDAC, in other words, gathering data, and practice problem solving methods, putting together meetings and brainstorming sessions. They are also used to enable the practices of the program to be able to work their way toward a Six Sigma black belt, the highest level in the Six Sigma hierarchy.
