The jobs of certified nursing assistant are available in healthcare facilities like nursing homes, hospitals as well as assisted living communities. The job responsibilities are not limited on medical related duties but also in keeping the patients comfortable. Hospital

A certified nursing assistant is under the direct supervision of registered nurse. The job responsibilities of certified nursing assistant in a hospital include but not limited to taking vital signs of the patient such as the temperature, blood pressure and pulse. Recording the result accurately is included in the responsibilities of CNA. In like manner, as part of providing care, the nursing assistant is required to assist the patient in the daily activities such as taking a walk, assist when using restroom facilities, getting up from hospital bed and many other tasks as the need arise.   

Other Job Responsibilities

Aside from assisting the daily activities of the patient, a certified nursing assistant can also perform other tasks depending on the circumstances. In this sense, there is a variation of service such as assisting in teeth brushing and providing sponge baths. Doing some housekeeping duties can be assumed by the nursing assistant. It means that cleaning the room and changing soiled beddings could be a part of the daily duties.

Moreover, a certified nursing assistant can also work for private individuals or private healthcare company that runs nursing home. The most important thing that a certified nursing assistant should ensure is to provide companionship with an elderly who needs it.
