Just an interesting look at communication.

mediaimage

We often hear that women don't understand men and men don't understand women.  And that people think differently and sometimes it hard to get the meaning of what someone is saying.

The funny thing is communication is probably one of the toughest things to accomplish.  First of all different people perceive things in different ways.  Some learn best by sight,What? Articles some by hearing, some by doing, and some by saying it out loud.  So the first step is to say things in different ways.  Repitition is not a bad thing.

Next the instructor or communicator needs to convey what is meant.  For instance, if we are in a room with many doors and they all are open, and the instructor says close the door, this is what will probably happen.  Everyone will look around.  People will begin to close all the doors.  But that wasn't what he said.  Or nothing will get closed.  Perhaps a question will be asked.  But at the least time will pass.

It is important that whatever is being communicated is clearly shown either by words orally, written, or a task shown.  It is also the responsibility of the communicator to make sure it was understood.  If communication breaks down mistakes will happen.  Almost every time.

On the other side if everyone understands the objective, things will run smoothly most of the time.
