4. Update your Mac: Apple offers extended features and services with its new versions. Always prefer to upgrade to the newer version of Mac for better speed and performance. Other than software, choose for hardware changes as well if required.

5. Backup your data: This is an unconventional method used to speed up your system performance. Choose to back up your important data on external drives or better backup it on cloud backup services. This way you can give some desired space to your system. Better storage space availability will turn up as better performance.

6. Reset your SMC: This may sound some tricky thing to do but it is one of the best solutions to deal with various performance related issues.
