BlackBerry PlayBook Launches In Several International Markets

New kinds of mobile computing devices such as the BlackBerry PlayBook are rapidly gaining in popularity. These can prove to be quite a useful tool for business.

Despite their recent rise to popularity, tablet PCs are not really a new invention and have existed for more than a decade already. However, it is just recently that more and more equipment manufacturers have started paying attention to these devices. The Apple iPad is said to be by certain analysts the tablet PC that has brought the most attention to this kind of device. It is now being used by businesses as well as individual users from around the world. These devices have some very useful features, such as the ability to be used in connection with various Remote Access  programs to access data on other systems while the user is on the go.Research in Motion or RIM, the creators of the popular BlackBerry smart phone have responded to the launch of the iPad with their own version of the tablet PC, called the BlackBerry PlayBook. This new mobile device was launched in April 2011 for the American market and has launched on June 16th 2011 in various European countries. It has also recently made its debut in India on June 20th, which is 3 days earlier than expected. The co-CEO of Research in Motion, Mike Lazaridis, has stated that by releasing the PlayBook, the company wasnt trying to dumb down the internet to make it work on mobile devices, but rather to make mobile devices such as the tablet PC more powerful and functional, in order to give them the same level of functionality than a regular computer.Indeed, such functionality can be quite useful for certain applications such as PC Remote Access software, which allows users to remotely control a computers desktop from another location. It is not just the buyers of tablet PCs that are happy with the launch of the BlackBerry PlayBook, but many software development firms are as well. The reason behind this is that the widespread increase in production and use of mobile devices like tablet PCs and smart phones gives software developers a whole new market that they can target. There are now many software programs available for mobile platforms, such as games, business tools, Remote Control Software, etc.Tablet PCs are a unique type of mobile device, which makes them very useful and attractive to a diverse range of users ranging from students to business people. They are a lot more functional and have a much bigger display than your typical smart phone, but are also much smaller and thus more mobile than a fully fledged notebook PC.Now that the potential that these devices have has been seen in the industry, there are many other companies besides Apple and Research in Motion that are developing their own version of the tablet, ranging from popular computer and cell phone manufacturersFree Web ContentBusiness Management Articles, to no-name companies in Asia that specialize in making discount electronics.
