There are four specialist areas of training in a full CompTIA A+ program; you're thought of as an achiever in A+ when you've passed the test for half of them. This is why most training providers only have two of the courses on their syllabus. In fact it's necessary to have the training for all four areas as many jobs will require an awareness of the whole A+ program. It isn't necessary to pass exams in all of them,
although it would seem prudent that you take tutorials in all 4 subjects.
As well as learning how to build and fix computers, students on an A+ training course will learn how to work in antistatic conditions, how to fault find, to diagnose and to remotely access problems. Should you be thinking of maintaining networks, add the excellent CompTIA Network+ to your A+ course. Including Network+ will mean you can get a higher paid position. Other ones that might be interesting to you are the route to networking via Microsoft, in the form of MCP's, MCSA or the full MCSE.
You should only consider training paths that grow into industry accepted certifications. There are far too many trainers promoting minor 'in-house' certificates which aren't worth the paper they're printed on in today's commercial market.
