In this publication we would like to cover the options of extending Dynamics GP distribution modules to automate warehouse management,Dynamics GP California Partner: Warehouse Management, Logistics, eCommerce Articles as well as barcoding based light assembly.  Plus, as businesses are competing on the web, ecommerce should be considered as natural part of your supply chain operations.  B2B and B2C ecommerce orders should be ready for fulfillment on the warehouse floor.  We will be based on the functionality available in Microsoft Dynamics GP Sales Order Processing, Purchase Order Processing and Inventory Control modules:
1. Merchandise Replenishment or Restocking.  In Great Plains the logic is in POP module within Purchase Orders and Purchase Receipts.  Warehouse Management System has client application on the screen of the barcode scanner, where you scan Receipt #, Inventory Item, enter quantity and if required lot number.  WMS client application talks to WMS Server, which in turn uploads scanned Receipt lines into Great Plains Purchase Receipt via ODBC connection to GP SQL database
2. Sales Order Fulfillments.  Here you do picking and packing on the warehouse floor, scanning picked merchandize and scanned lines allocate Sales Order lines in Dynamics GP SOP module
3. Inventory Count, Transfers, Adjustments are also exposed to WMS client via ODBC connection from WMS Server
4. Elements of Supply Chain Management.  We also support such custom logic as merchandise consignment, delivery trucks route optimization
5. Manufacturing.  Alba Spectrum Posting Server has scripting options, where we can execute several manufacturing operations in the style of macro playing (with more advanced technology, allowing you to call external program, DLL with parameters request, etc)
6. International implementation and features.  If you are selling to national communities in USA or Canada: Mexican, Brazilian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, German, Arabic - Dynamics GP version 10.0 as well as new version 2010 have Dynamics GP interface and reports in these languages (as add-on from one of the Microsoft Dynamics GP ISV partners).  We should be able to help you with Dynamics GP company SQL DB installation with appropriate collation.  Languages with one byte ASCII compliant alphabet could be saved directly to the GP database, Unicode compliant (mostly hieroglyphs) might require hieroglyph support add-ons (such as NJ Star, for example).  Please, check with us on Dynamics GP localization availability for your country, if you plan to deploy Dynamics GP for foreign subsidiary.  Even if GP is not localized in your country, we will be happy to demo and recommend you either SAP Business One (smaller subsidiary solution) or Dynamics AX (fits for high end functionality for large facility with discrete or process manufacturing) in such countries as Brazil, Russia, China
