Very common situation with eCommerce web application integration to your Corporate ERP or Small Business Accounting application is when you have custom website with integrated popular shopping cart Software Development Kit.

You might be already chosen one of these: BigCommerce,Dynamics GP eCommerce Solution: Shopping Cart Mapping To SOP Invoice Articles ShopSite Pro, Volusion, Merchandizer Pro, Fortune3, Network Solutions, SunShop, X-Cart Pro, AspDotNet Storefront and others in production and you do not want to rebuild it from scratches.  We respect your investments into ecommerce programming and shopping cart software licenses, this is why we are favoring ecommerce module for Microsoft Dynamics GP (former name was Great Plains Dynamics) which is in essence Shopping Cart integration enabler, in comparison to "turn key" Microsoft Dynamics GP integration modules, where you have to pick preferred Shopping Cart and Customer Credit Card processing provider.  Let's review the highlights:
1. Image of e-commerce shopping cart (B2B or B2C) in Dynamics GP.  There are three options to choose from: Sales Order Processing (Invoice or Sales Order), Invoicing Module Invoice, or Receivable Management Invoice.  In our observation - the most popular shopping cart integration image in GP is SOP document (invoice or sales order, in the base of B2B ecommerce we also see SOP Return as Vendor RMA instantiation).  SOP Sales Order will give you more leverage to exercise Order Fulfillment process (if you do it in your manufacturing facility or in Barcode based Warehouse Management System, Picking and Packing).  Great Plains Invoicing gives you some saving in Dynamics GP software licenses, however it is not current with such eCommerce related technologies as eConnect SDK.  Pushing eCommerce transaction to Dynamics GP Receivable Management Invoice is feasible, where you do not need to print out invoice in Great Plains and just need to track customer payment in ecommerce B2B scenario for AR aging and collection (hopefully you are good enough to resolve payment issues with your customers prior to selling your AR to collection management firm)
2. eCommerce module implementation simplicity.  eCommerce add-ons could be cheap but they may require high customer support and implementation consulting expense.  We tried to work through this known issue and make our eCommerce Solution be implemented in the matter of one or few hours (assuming that your ecommerce integration scenario doesn't require customization and complex settings)
3. Technology behind.  We are trying to implement quasi real time ecommerce integration and this is why we are not deploying such standard Dynamics GP integration technologies as Integration Manager, eConnect.  Instead we are basing our eCommerce Solution on Alba Spectrum Order Connector
4. ECommerce and Barcoding automation, Warehouse Management System and Supply Chain Management.  Our eCommerce module for Dynamics GP Great Plains works in concert with our Warehouse Management System, where your Customer invoice might be originated in eCommerce B2B or B2C shopping cart and then it is transferred for Assembly or Picking and Packing to one of your Manufacturing facilities or Warehouses, where you fulfill the Order with Barcode scanner automation.  We plan to show this process on Convergence 2010 in Atlanta, and we welcome you to our pavilion

For additional help please call us: 1-866-528-0577, internationally 1-630-961-5918 or email us help@albaspectrum.com  We also support our products internationally and our consultants speak English, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Filipino, Arabic.  Local support is available in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County California, Atlanta (SAP Business One, where we have eCommerce and WMS modules available)
6. Alba Spectrum  on Convergence 2010 in Atlanta.  Andrew Karasev personally invites you to visit our booth on Convergence 2010.  Andrew will make himself available for interview and orientation sessions on April 26th and 27th.  If you already missed this trade show - please call our office for free Dynamics GP eCommerce presentation.  We also support such archaic Great Plains versions as 8.0, 7.5, 7.0, 6.0, 5.5, 5.0 or even Great Plains Accounting for DOS, Windows and Mac
7. Internationalization and eCommerce or WMS dilemma.  If your corporation goes internationally and you already own Great Plains user licenses, natural idea might be to deploy Dynamics GP for overseas subsidiary (there seems to be not cost for software license).  However we have to point out to Corporate ERP localization aspect: Dynamics GP is only localized for English speaking countries, Spanish speaking Latin America (not continental Spain), plus robust localizations are available in Arabic speaking countries (including Afghanistan and Iran where Persian and Dari languages are based on Arabic alphabet).  If your country is not listed above, we recommend you to consider Corporate ERP competition, good idea is SAP Business One, localized in China, Russia, Japan, Korea, Brazil
