Dynamics GP Implementation with sure step 2010 Introduction Level Notes

Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step seems to become popular and it is now required for each Dynamics partner to be in good standing with certification requirements

The tool itself seems to be reasonably intuitive in its self-discovery.  Let’s come through its features in introduction level small paper.  As each project could be deployed either on your individual computer, or SharePoint server – it is possibly to manage your personal consulting business as well as share it with the Sales, Implementation Consulting and Software Development teams in larger Dynamics technology consulting firm:

1. Seven Key Points: Project Phases, Decisions Accelerators, Project Types, Cross Phase Processes, Optimization Offerings, Project Management Library and Roles for both entities – the customer and consulting organization

2. Dynamics ERP and CRM products oriented projects.  At this point (March 2010) Sure Step covers AX, CRM, GP, NAV, SL

3. Phases: Diagnostic, Analysis, Design, Development, Deployment, and Operation.  Here Diagnostic is considered as pre-implementation activity or phase.  All the others are classified as the phases of the implementation process

4. Decision Accelerator Offerings.  These features should help you in Microsoft Solution Sales Process or MSSP.  Plus, you as Microsoft Dynamics consultant or sales engineer do your due diligence minimizing the risks of over promising.  Accelerator offerings are Requirements and Process Review, Upgrade Assessment, Fit Gap and Solution Blueprint, Architecture Assessment, Scoping Assessment, Proof of Concept and Business Case.  The selection may require you to specify project type, one of the followings: Standard (typically single site or multisite when each implementation is to some extent independent), Rapid (minimal or no customization for smaller organization), Enterprise (global multi site organization with possible international presence), Agile (this is the project where you should split it into deliverables with customization expectations, with cyclical “Sprints”, here you should set customer expectations, that the process will iterative, as custom ERP and CRM programming is something that might be not known at its estimation, at least its impact on standard processes, source code, quality assurance), Upgrade

5. Microsoft Dynamics ERP specifics.  Of course former Great Plains, Axapta, Solomon, Navision have different code base and customization tools (such as Dexterity, Morph X++, Microsoft CRM SDK, Navision CSide, etc.)  Sure Step allows you to abstract from your favorite ERP platform and recommend the solutions for broader pull of the customers.  For example, if you are selling just Dynamics GP and you find the prospect with process manufacturing needs (such as food processing, mining, oil drilling).  Dynamics AX supports process manufacturing in its core manufacturing module and there is no need to compete with upper mid-market customer implementation to offer Dynamics GP manufacturing customization to support process manufacturing

6. If you feel that your concerns are not addressed or your question is not answered, please feel free to contact our office.  Support domestically in the USA, Canada, Mexico and internationally.  This option is possible via Web Sessions, Skype or Phone conferences and direct visits onsite (in the case of the large scale project).  Our consulting team speaks English, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Filipino.  Feel free to call us 1-866-304-3265, 1-269-605-4904Science Articles, or email
