If historically you had Microsoft Dynamics GP or older Great Plains Dynamics or eEnteprise and even Great Plains Accounting for DOS and Windows, and now you need to redeploy that legacy Corporate ERP for audit or data inquiry purposes, we would like to announce this as old Great Plains support service.

Historical Great Plains versions: 9.0 and 8.0 – these were available on Microsoft SQL Server or MSDE exclusively.  Great Plains 7.5,Dynamics GP Partner Newsflash: Old Great Plains reactivation service Articles 7.0, 6.0, 5.5, 5.0, 4.0 – these versions were available on three DB platforms: Microsoft SQL Server, Pervasive SQL 2000 (formerly known as Btrieve) and Ctree.  Great Plains Accounting for DOS and Windows was available on Btrieve: 9.5, 9.2, 9.1 and earlier.  Please, see legacy Great Plains Corporate ERP redeployment highlights:

1.       Stand Alone computer.  Each version, including GPA for DOS could be mounted on standalone Windows XP or Vista workstation.  You should have Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition, or older SQL Server 7.0 Dev for MS SQL based versions.  For Pervasive SQL or Ctree standalone DB version installed automatically.  For GPA for DOS or Windows we recommend to deploy it on Pervasive SQL 2000 SP3

2.       Registration Key.  If you are on Microsoft SQL Server based version, reg key should be in the backup of your Dynamics database.  Pervasive and Ctree store reg key in Dynamics\System folder.  We recommend you to sign Change VAR letter to Alba Spectrum – in this case we can get your registration key from your records in Microsoft customers database

3.       Consulting time and cost.  It depends on the number of your companies and version.  If you have only one company, then for Great Plains on all three DB types it should take three hours.  If you have more than one company, it should take longer.  For Great Plains Accounting it typically longer, as there is specific technology on how to tune Pervasive SQL 2000 to work with GPA

4.       Data Export from Great Plains.  If you are walking away from GP to another Corporate ERP platform and need export of master records and historical transactions for following data migration to new ERP, you should request help on Great Plains table structure.  If you are only requiring training on basic data structure, we recommend you to order two hours of training from our Great Plains technical consultant.  If you need full service and would prefer GP tables to be extracted to popular DB platform, such as Microsoft Access, Tab Delimited or CSV text file, please feel free to request quote from us

5.       Old Great Plains Data Repair.  For Pervasive or Ctree we use ODBC connection technology and Microsoft Access to fix specific records.  All you need is to open your computer to our Great Plains technician via Web Session or provide remote desktop or VPN connection.  We can unlock forgotten Great Plains System password for old or current GP
