As long as there have been laptop computers, Epson has been there with some sort of inject printer which may not be as intriguing as it seems because Epson has been around the computer world since dot-matrix days.

Ever since the advent of the dot-matrix printer over 30 years ago,Epson WorkForce 645 Wireless Printer Review Articles it seems as if the name Epson has been associated with the world of quality printers. Going back as far as the Model 80, Epson has been there for computer users and today it continues to be there with some of the most innovative printers on the market. For example the WorkForce 645 is a not only an inkjet that offers color printing at 7.2 ISO pages per minute, but also 15 ISO ppm black and white.

This makes it, perhaps, the fastest inkjet on the market. Further, it also offers you the ability to interface through your network, a PC or using WiFi as it recognizes standards 802.11 b/g/n. This means that it not only will recognize older office and home networking routers - usually b/g - but it will also recognize hotspots with the n standard.

Set up is easy. Just open the box, plug in the appropriate plug. For example, if you are going to use it with a print server, you simply plug in the USB cable in the rear and the USB in the PC and hen you use the standard "add a printer" routine and the Epson's off to the races. This also offers a more standard internet interface as well as built-in WiFi. This means that as long as you have a WiFi hotspot on in your office or within range of he printer, it will recognize the hotspot and the type of security used such as WEP, WPA or WPA2.

Just these features alone would make this a fine printer, especially when you consider that Epson's inks are among the most smudge-proof and waterproof on the market. Those inks, plus its ability to scan, copy and fax, directly from the printer make it one of the versatile inkjets on the market.

We also find its extended inkjet cartridges, while not all that expensive when compared with other printers, to be somewhat on the expensive side. Although this is probably comparing apples to oranges as we were comparing lasers to inkjets. Laser carts last far longer than inkjet carts, and, we will say that Epson does has the inkjet market beat here, too, as its carts do last longer than standard injket cartridges. The quality of its printing is also fine.

We also liked the small display at the front that allowed us to manipulate the photos we were printing, and if you had a photo you wanted to upload and print directly from your smartphone, all you had to do was to be in range of the WorkForce.
