2.       GP following support.  Here you can decide to optimize your support cost and switch over to remote support GP consultants and developers.  We recommend you to get reasonable training for your IT department: SQL DBA and basic GP support skills

3.       GP version upgrade.  It is probably not required to have consultant locally for upgrade, however if you are large manufacturing mill or large public company, you should consider your servicing consultant to show up in your place for several days, when you are going in production with just upgraded version to secure uninterrupted operations

5.       GP current version.  At this time it is GP 10.0.  Version update is possible from all the former versions: 9.0, 8.0, 7.5, 7.0, 6.0, 5.5, 5.0, 4.0, as well as migration to GP from Great Plains Accounting for DOS and Windows.  If you are on non MS SQL Server platform, such as Pervasive SQL / Btrieve or Ctree – you should consider migration to Microsoft SQL Server.  Migration tools is available for GP version 7.5.  In fact this was the last version, supporting Pervasive and Ctree
