Normally upgrade is outsourced to Great Plains Consultant:

1.       GP 10.0 License.  If you are current in Microsoft Business Solutions annual enhancement program,Great Plains Illinois VAR newsflash: Dynamics GP Upgrade Articles you should have access to all the versions of license keys.  In the case, when you are not current in the program, you should contact your Dynamics GP Reseller or Microsoft directly to get detail on reenrollment procedure.  There is also the possibility that you lapsed at the time, when GP 10 was already released, in this case, you can obtain from your historical Dynamics GP VAR license key to version 10

2.       Simple upgrade path.  This is when you are on GP 9.0 or 8.0.  In this case, please apply latest service pack for your current version, ask you Great Plains VAR to download SP for you from their Partner Source.  Then install Dynamics GP 10.0 and, prior to launching GP Utilities upgrade, download and apply latest GP 10.0 Service Pack.  Be sure that you do not have Dexterity customizations, or GP ISV add-ons – if you have one of those, please contact your Dexterity programmers and ISV on the subject of upgrade procedure for modifications

3.       Several Steps Upgrade Path.  This is when you are on GP 7.5 and earlier versions, assuming that you are already on Microsoft SQL Server.  If this is the case, you should contact your Dynamics GP consultant to design upgrade scenario.  If you are on Pervasive SQL or Ctree, we recommend you to undertake migration to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 on GP version 7.5

4.       Great Plains Accounting upgrade and migration.  For GPA DOS or Windows 9.5 we could move you to Dynamics GP 7.5 to open the door to modern Great Plains Dynamics GP on Microsoft SQL Server for your organization

5.       Great Plains old version support.  If you feel that you do not need version update at this time or probably indefinitely (especially when old GPA is for possible audit purpose and old transactions lookup), then feel free to call our office to mount old GPA or Dynamics on Pervasive SQL or Ctree on new computer or move it from the old one.  We are comfortable travelling in Illinois to address downstate towns
